SANDMAN

When day is done
and turns to gloom
the sandman glides
into your room
when night must fall
extinguished light
the sandman comes
and all take flight

the sandman is here now to take you away
to a land of deep shadow where you're bound
to stay
the sandman comes calling with something for you
a wave of his hand and the night turns too blue

nothing is
just what it seems
within your room
the lord of dreams
in realms you love
in realms you fear
the sandman thrives
and now draws near

the sandman is rising from out of the deep
the sandman is coming to put you to sleep
come hither come slither when darkness starts falling
when eyes start to closing the sandman comes calling

the shadows dart
across the room
the sandman comes
to call the tune
in dreams you love
in drams you fear
the sandman whispers
in your ear

strutting and fretting his hour on the stage
the sandman creeps closer and now turns the page
with fingers all frozen and ice in his eyes
the sandman now beckons the ghosts start to rise

THE MENSCH IN THE MOON

There is a man who's living up in the moon
and his name is the mensch in the moon
he's always busy and he's never bored
as he whistles this sad little croon
he sweeps up the moon dust then he
dusts off the moon rocks as he
strolls through the shiny lunar dunes
he peeps in the craters as he
hunts moon alligators to the song of
the old lunar tunes

No one knows just how he got to the moon
can you fly to the moon on a spoon
some think he sailed off in a purple balloon
then he landed! right there in the moon!
one day he may fly off to saturn
or take a trip to Moscow
or visit Cameroon
but then he'll have to go right back to the moon
'cause his name is the mensch in the moon

CRAWL SPACE

There's a secret place
that we like to go
just a little space
you gotta crouch real low
now to enter in
through this tiny door
you gotta crawl through the wall
up on the attic floor

Crawl right in and start grinnin'
you never have to feel sad
whether you're young or old or in between
you'll always be glad

When the big grumps tell you
just exactly what to do
you can hide inside a place where
the big grumps can't reach you

Come on let's crawl
bounce on off of that wall
turn your back on the mall
come on and start to squall
bet your butt you gotta haul
get on the get-go y'all
from Rangoon to Nepal
come on we're gonna crawl

Now we're in our crawl space
our time and our place
to take a break from the human race
to leave the world without a trace
cuttin' through right to the chase
can't never put you in your place
now you're here at home base
this is our crawl space!

Now just the other day
I got with my pal Peter
we crawled into this space
we're in the place that can't be sweeter
we started singing this song
we started feeling so free
we made that crawl space spin
with our laughter and our glee

Callin' out to everybody
in the whole wide world to
join us in our crawl space
'cause there's room enough to fit you

We're on a roll now
when we sing this song
come into our space
'cause you know it can't be wrong

Don't hafta walk tall
or hafta kick the ball
you gotta heed the call
you know we're gonna crawl
it's good to get small
that's all there is -- that's all
you know we never can fall
you know we all gotta crawl

This is our crawl space
put on your craziest face
nothing ever gets on our case
when we're in our crawl space
this is our crawl space
climb in step up the pace
the big old world we'll soon replace
now we're in our crawl space!

A HUNDRED POUNDS OF CLAY

He took a hundred pounds of clay
and then he made a dreidel
he took a hundred pounds of clay
an then he laid it on the table
then he reached his big hand down
and he spun that dreidel around
he created a dreidel
yes with lots of Chanukah lovin'
for you!

He took a hundred pounds of clay
and then he made a Golem
He took a hundred pounds of clay
just to bring about world shalom
then he reached his big hand down
and he spun that Golem around
he created a Golem
yes with lots of cabbala lovin'
for you!

He took a hundred pounds of clay
and then he made a bagel
he took a hundred pounds of clay
just to feed a shayna meidl
then he reached his big hand down
and he spun that bagel around
he created a bagel
yes with lots of chalachic lovin'
for you!
