ROCK 'N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL - From The Nottingham Connection 2025: Honored to be profiled in this magazine, sent out to all still breathing alumni of William H. Nottingham High School in Syracuse NY. A very public high school, we were first in the nation to have an actual race riot in 1968—sparked by friction between white frat boys and members of the Soul Generation (the Black equivalent) at a Fri. night dance (very "West Side Story")

Big thanks to Bruce Lee Gallanter at Downtown Music Gallery on the LES—just about the only record store that matters left in NYC—for his nice review of my recent acoustic EP with French vocalist YASS BODY.
Yass, hitherto unknown to me, showed up at a Jeff Buckley Tribute at Arlene's Grocery a few years ago direct from his hometown Lille, saying "I had a dream I was working with you—here I am!"
I liked Yass's spirit and his energy, and we hit it off right away collaborating on new songs.
We recorded this EP at Ari Sebag's Studio 4A Sound Factory in lovely Forges-Les-Eaux Normandie right before lockdown, with my old friend French guitarist / producer David Konopnicki at the controls, and it was quite a fun session.
Now Bruce has cd copies of our EP, please check out his review and make sure you go and see him soon. Or you can order from him directly online here!

Gary sold out his solo concert at the Spencertown Academy Arts Center in the upper Hudson Valley Saturday night 1/11/25—his second sell out in a row there!
From Kate McLeod, who made this clip:
"Dear Gary, The term awesome has lost its punch but let's just use it to describe your performance last night. I was thinking as I watched your command of the guitars that you must have been that accomplished 44 years ago when you became a pro instead of a vampire or a rabbi. It was amazing to be sitting in that incredibly intimate space experiencing your music. It is forever imprinted in my soul. I saw Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden in the nosebleed section and decided not to see shows in those spaces anymore. Here are the videos we took and a recording. Please keep us on your mailing list. Amazing grace, Kate and Mark West"
View a clip of his version of Nino Rota's theme from Fellini's 1954 classic "La Strada" filmed at the show
